*Knowledge of Nature*

This past Saturday I had the opportunity to spend the day with dad! Anyone that knows me, realizes that I absolutely love spending time with him. (plus how could I pass up golf at Mountain Dell Golf Course!)

The day started off great! Me catching my pants and ripping them HOLE #1. Yeah that made for a slight breeze in my britches! The fall colors were spectacular. The company was as always Awesome! And well our golf games..... Let me just speak for Dad and I- "We had a FUN day"! does that explain how well our game went?

Afterwards we had to make a stop before going home. (Yes I still had my breezy pants on at this point!) I had the opportunity to listen and somewhat assist (in setting out the plants!) with his presentation to the Scouts.

He taught about the different types of wildflowers, bushes, shrubs, pines, etc. He did a great job! I have to admit, having a dad as a landscaper you know they know a lot about plants etc. However watching him teach and present them to a group of 20 men, actually impressed me. His passion for plants, the outdoors, nature and our God that made them is amazing. Dad surprises me everyday! He is an amazing man with a heart as big as they come! He was a little nervous and afterwards kept asking "how did i do?" I'll report dad did a fabulous job and had the attention of everyone! (even his daughter with the hole she was hiding from the men!)

I adore my dad and look up to him for so many reasons! He's a fighter and a survivor! I love you dad with all my heart and so much more!

Freedom Pictures, Images and Photos
*Thanks to those that DID/HAS/ARE/WILL Serve*

The past few months have been definitely trying times. Trial after trial, problem after problem. It seems to never end. However this past Sunday I was at my dads house watching the Baseball Playoffs(Go Dodgers! poor Yankees!). I was emailing a friend and our emails were back and forth about the services, war, memorials, etc. Later that night I layed in bed thinking about our conversation, the pictures and websites I had viewed earlier. The feeling of gratitude came over me.

I realize that the decisions, we as humans make in our daily lives, are a big factor in how our life plays out. (This I am witnessing first hand) However the thought of being at home with a peace of not having to worry about bombs, shots from rifles, people screaming, basically the sounds of war... I am truly blessed. I have a job, home, family, friends, beautiful landscapes all around me. I have freedom to come and go as I please. I have the freedom to say what I find necessary. I have the freedom to do most anything (in legal limits of course!)Life could definitely be worse!

I am grateful to my grandfather, dad, brother and my relatives for serving! I am grateful for my dear friends that are serving and going to serve. My old roommate Tyler will be going (in his words) "play grown up GI Joe" in Iraq October 20th. My other dear friend will be going through training and then shipped off later in the next year or two. People close to my heart are making it possible for me to experience Freedom! I am grateful for the many Thousands of other individuals that I don't even know that make it so I live in a safe place!

I guess sometimes we take for granted the fact that we are Americans with Freedom!

Family: Do you remember the "You are Special plate" we used to get to use on our birthday? I think I have figured out the reason why we all ride the short bus!

Drum Rolls Please.....

Here is the broadcast from yesterday! The broadcast turned out well. However the "PRE-INTERVIEW" was the best ...... "Training Table by the Lingerie store"! Who says that!?!?! Oh I guess Dad does! hahaha

For those that have a quick eye.. You will see my back side for a quick second! (just before dad gets into the truck. I love cameras! This angle didn't make me look so homeless and dirty!)

Channel 2 News TONIGHT! (Superstars)

We have a few superstars in the Worthington Family! Tonight Channel 2 News @5pm. Dad and Edie will make their debut! They were interviewed today (I had the pleasure of being there at Dad's interview) regarding self employed individuals that do not have Health Insurance.

Dad and I were at lunch and he got a phone call. I only heard his side of the conversation and witnessed his facial expressions. (which by the way were priceless) The conversation went something like this:

Dad: "HI?"
Dad: "I'm currently at lunch with my daughter"
Dad: "Her car is getting inspected"
Dad: "The training table by the lingerie store in Midvale"
Dad: "Oh hell I don't know the address. Suzers what South do you think this is?"
Dad: "Let me see if I can find the address. You know it's a guess but around 6800 South"
Dad: "That's fine"
Dad: "Great thanks"

He hung up the phone almost with an immediate sick look on face.

Suz: "Dad who was that?"
Dad: "Channel 2 News"
Suz: "Seriously?" (laughing)
Dad: "What the hell did I get myself into"
Suz: "Dad your going to be a superstar"
Dad: "Suz this is not funny"
Suz: (laughing)
Dad: "Still not funny. Eat fast we can leave before they get here"

I will say that Dad did a great job during the interview. You could tell he was a little nervous.

They said Edie did was really nervous as well but did a great interview! I guess it's up for us to see how well they did! :)

The best part about this.. They told dad and I they needed an "action shot".. Um okay?!?!?!

They said you get to walk with him from Training Table to the car. UM No. I whispered to the guy.. Seriously? He said yes. I said I haven't showered yet today! He said perfect! So dad and I had to do two different takes of us walking.. Don't worry the last shot I cut dad off almost tripping him. We got in the white work truck started reversing and the truck stalled. Started the truck and drove off. I was laughing so hard! Dad looks at me:

Dad: "This is is not funny"
Suz: "Dad you looked hot on the camera"
Dad: "I should have worn my BYU Jacket"

They were good sports to do the interviews!

I took pictures of the interview as well as video taped it on my camera. I will post the pictures later on tonight. I'll be posting the video tonight from the news as well.
