Millcreek Weenie Roast

What can I say.. i'm addicted to my family and to the outdoors! Last night I took the kids up Millcreek canyon for a Hot Dog roast and just to get away from the City! We got there clean and smelling good.. Lets just say the night led us to a wet and muddy one!!!

Hiking Adventures

This past weekend Kona and I were able to spend the day up at Fehr Lake with our dear Friends Anita and Jackson(kona's boyfriend a lot older but still her boyfriend!!) It's days

like this that I appreciate Utah and the amazing mountains we have!!!

I have to be the luckiest Aunt! I have the greatest, cutest, most adorable, absolutely priceless sweathearts for nieces and nephews! All of them! It's the simple activities of just spending time together that I live for!

I always hear people say "it's different with your own kids". Funny thing is- Never once have I ever thought that! These kids bring a smile to my face and a complete feeling to my heart!

**Wacky Wednesday Spotlight**

As I was thinking about my past week and everything that has gone on.. I also think about the people that have come in and out of my life. I am very lucky to have everyone and everything in my life.. however.. one picture comes to mind for todays Wacky Wednesday Spotlight!!!

My sister DeAnna is who I have chosen for this weeks spotlight!

(such a classic! hahahahaha)

Growing up with De, there was always a laugh! So many to write about but I definitely have my favorites!

*Cutting our hands to expose blood and rub it together to make us "blood sisters" (wait weren't we already blood sisters!)

*Sleeping out overnight it old Midvale (where we were the minorities) for Reba McEntire / Brooks & Dunn tickets. Now that I think back at that.. I really wonder what in the sam hell were we thinking! haha

*Julianna & De's club/clubhouse. Crystal and I offered free landscaping to that 2 story hut. They put us through the ringer.. locking us in cellars, dunking us to the point of gasping for air (they called it "baptizing us"!) To be quite honest, I don't think we ever were accepted into the club!

*Having De sit in the back of my tacoma with Kim Hansen and Ty. While I continued to go through the huge mud puddle! They were a complete mess!

*Or De when her bedroom was the kitchen.. her pinning me down, making me laugh so hard accidents may have happened!!(I'll admit to that...sad but so true!)



I could go on and on.. none the less we have a good time when we get together. I remember Aunt Mary & Grandma always getting upset with us.. "It hurts my feelings to see you two fight!" We were never really fighting just play fighting! :)

As I look back at the past few years... I couldn't be more grateful to have her as my sister! She's been there for me as my sister and as one of my best friends!



Without anyone telling me, I realize at times I can be overwhelming, on the go and quite honestly annoying! She puts up with me and all my moods!

Here's to the cut that made us blood sisters... and here's to the Cabbage Patch Kid parties we had! Thanks for putting up with me and all of the photo shoots I have forced you into! (hahaha- I think she is actually liking the photo shoots more and more)









I just wanted to let you know that I look up to you and support you!

5 Things....

What I was doing 10 years ago? - Geez.. 10 years! Probably sitting on the front lawn of Hillcrest High School. Getting my yearbook signed with the famous "give me a call this summer..." ha ha ha ! My 10 year reunion is in two weeks! I don't feel old at all!!!



5 years ago? - I was working for a Marketing Promotional Company in Sugarhouse, Utah (Jack Nadel, Inc.) Wasn't really into dating! I had much more fun going with friends climbing, biking, hiking and camping! I could have been consider a tree hugger due to the fact I was up in the canyons every day after work and on the weekends! (don't worry i shaved back then. I was a hippie!)


1 year ago? - I was trying to get my life back in order after going through my divorce with Brad. I was figuring out who I was again and enjoying my baby girl Kona Aspen! That dog was so happy with lots of energy! I always heard people say that dogs were part of their families, etc. This is when I realized she was my baby! A year ago I had just finished running my first 1/2 marathon as well! This was such a fun race to train for! My brother Bart that lived in NY and his friend flew in to run the marathon! We were also honored to have my dear friend Alisa run with us! If anyone has ever ran a 1/2 or a full marathon you will appreciate any port o' potty that you see!!! ha ha I have attached a video I found of the 2007 Marathon that we ran!!




Yesterday? - Woke up, worked a great day! My dear friend Anita came and picked me up to take me to lunch! Good thing I showered and got ready for the day! Oh wait I forgot the showered and got ready for the day part! Had a softball game at night! Spent the night with my little brother Ty. He is currently living with me which I am so grateful for!


5 Favorite Snacks? - OH man... this can be bad! Peanunt M&M's, Licorice, Brownies, Rice Cakes and Energy bars!!!

5 Favorite Books? - Mutant Message from down under, She's come undone, and um.. so many others.. top two though!


5 Places to Runaway? - The Mountains!! The Lake!! The Mountains!! Fort Collins, Colorado, Just drive in my car!

5 Bad Habits? - Being late (I try to fit 10 errands into a 2 errand time slot!) , being too nice (it sometimes backfires and makes me so frustrated), OCD (people go crazy cause of how much I clean! I rather enjoy cleaning!) eating peanut M&M's, Not taking time for Suzy! (I tend to be busy busy worrying and helping others I tend to forget I need time and attention too! I enjoy doing things for others.... I just need to find time for me!)


5 Things I would Never wear? -
Tube Top! EWW tube tops are not for me! I would however wear GUESS jeans, Unit belts, Jelly shoes and a side pony tail that is secured with a scrunchy again!

5 Pet Peeves? - Selfish people, smacking while eating, people that judge, when people don't say please or thank you!

5 Things I Enjoy? - Hiking, biking, camping, THE MOUNTAINS, Kona, being with friends and family, Cleaning, Yard work... Oh that's more than 5 !

My dad the Hero!

I'm new to this blogging scene and am so excited to be here! What better blog to start with, a blog about Dad! With Fathers Day coming up, it's only natural to think back about all that dad has done!


I look back at my life and the influence that my dad has had on me. I am speechless when I think of the love and sacrifice my dad has given me over the years! I have learned so much that I will be forever grateful to him. His humor and his strong will to make everyday better is absolutely amazing!
My dad has gone through some major trials in his life. Just a few weeks ago there was a scare with my dads health. I have never been so scared in my entire life. With many prayers and blessing from family, friends and people in his ward.... Things have a better outlook for him! a fighter, surivoexample! My dad means the world to me!

I hope everyone can take time to tell the fathers in their lives, of the love they have for them.
